Slaughterboys

The boy was nine years old when he was picked for the butchering, and that was the last time he saw his mother and little sister Tilly

Inspired by the likes of Animal Farm, Lord of the Flies and The Road, the book follows the journey of a boy into manhood as he is drafted to toil in the Slaughter Row in an attempt to reach Enlightenment.

A writing project that started with the above short excerpt in 2016. In 2021, I finalized the draft in Swedish. It is currently marinating before revisions and I intend to eventually try and get this manuscript published during 2022.

Fantasy Project

I believed in dragons. Maybe that made me mad. Maybe I was longing for a forlorn wonder. Maybe there was magic in the air that made me believe that not all things of beauty had yet left this world. I was standing on the edge of an abyss crumbling at my feet, considering if I should take the plunge or not. Falling, with the hope of freedom to spread its wings for me, taking me to heights I could never imagine. And yet, no one believed me, when I looked into the dark gleam of falling fires and found that it sang to me.

The story follows that of a crownless prince and his father, driven from their homeland, as the prince beckons the call of old ages in his search for the truth of dragons. Once he finds out that the man who exiled him has gotten his hands on a dragon egg, he willingly walks into the lion’s den to pursue what he believes is right.

My most long-term project to date, starting back in…2007? 2008? It has gone through countless iterations over the years and now it is waiting for me to find the time to work on it more consistently again.

Cyberpunk Project

The host turned to the smiling doll again. “As most of us know, you and DaeHyun have a lot of history together. Childhood friends, am I right? You two must be close. I think I am not too far off in theorizing that you and he will team up for The Game. What do you say to that?”

“I’m in love with him.”

Ji, a young businessman living in a city where the corporate world rules everything, stands at a crossroads. His father, hungry to climb the corporate ladder to the absolute top, wants to send his son into the ever prestigious Games to claim the title that could elevate their company to the top in the city. Ji, on the other hand, bereft of all sense of life and agency under the thumb of his father’s rule, wants nothing else but to escape the Games. But to do that he needs to betray his best friend, who’s only goal in life is to join the games with Ji by his side. Ji’s feelings for his friend, bordering on maddening love, does not make the choice easier.

The project originally started as a Twine game. Attempts to transform the games into a book started in 2020, and the story is inspired by the likes of The Hunger Games and WestWorld.
